Terms of Use

1. Using KnowHouse

KnowHouse helps homeowners track home systems and plan maintenance. By creating an account you agree to these terms. You must be at least 16 and provide accurate information about yourself and the properties you add.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@knowhouse.com if you believe someone else has access. You may only add properties you own, rent, manage, or otherwise have permission to document.

3. Estimates are planning guides

Lifecycle estimates and cost ranges are based on typical equipment and local conditions; they are planning guides, not guarantees of remaining life or actual contractor pricing.

KnowHouse is not a home inspection, an engineering opinion, an appraisal, or a warranty. Nothing in the app replaces a licensed professional inspecting your property. Do not rely on the app for urgent safety issues — if you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide, or see structural or electrical danger, contact the appropriate emergency service or a licensed professional immediately.

4. Contractors and referrals

Contractors listed in the app, suggested by outbound searches, or shared by your connections are independent third parties. We do not employ, supervise, guarantee, or insure them. Verify licensing, insurance, and references yourself. Any contract, payment, or dispute is between you and the contractor.

5. Product links

Materials and parts link out to retailers. Prices and availability change and are shown as estimates only. Some links may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans start after any free trial and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in Settings; access continues to the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the documents, photos, and notes you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store and process them solely to operate the service for you. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.

8. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no scraping, reverse engineering, reselling access, uploading malware or unlawful content, or harvesting contractor contact details shared with you for marketing purposes.

9. Availability and liability

The service is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it available and accurate but do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free data. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including property damage arising from deferred or missed maintenance.

10. Termination and changes

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. If we materially change these terms we will notify account holders by email; continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
